“My name is Elena Cremona, I am an artist / photographer in pursuit of realizing my full potential. I don’t really like saying I am inspired by certain things, when all I try to do with my work, is portray truth.”
“Black & white has a timeless quality to me, no matter wether I am shooting it or printing it in the darkroom. It brings me one step closer to my craft – having to really see my subjects, rather than focusing in on the colour and what I see with my naked eye.
My mind is free’d up when shooting black and white, the world I see around me no longer becomes a distraction, but a motivation and inspiration. It helps me see light differently, see contrast and structures differently – and therefore it helps me read what I see with a much more open mind. You know those videos where you can just superzoom on a subject?.. That’s what black and white photography does to me.. I see what I am meant to see and let go of the rest.”
